Pellegrini: "Now I will force the owners to form a competitive team"
The full quote

"The challenge with West Ham is spectacular. Now I will force the owners to form a competitive team because they are rich but careful with money. We are trying to get the owner to loosen up to make an important investment and thus bring the players we need.” "

I will force the owners to loosen up, sounds like Manuel has popped into Ann Summers and bought a couple of gimp outfits (one size EEEES) and a monster strapon. I hope G&S have plenty of lube left over.

Good on him.
Pellegrini is taking ownership of the relationship with the Daves from the off. If we end up with a team of Hugills he is setting out exactly who is responsible.
Fingers and toes crossed.

Wouldn't he have thrashed all of that out before accepting the job?

This is more about getting the players behind him than anything else.

I agree with you, surely a transfer budget was agreed while he was negotiating with us. If he now has to force the money out of him that's pretty worrying.

Mirror C&P

Manuel Pellegrini is at odds with the West Ham hierarchy - just two weeks into his reign.

Mirror Sport has learned Hammers boss Pellegrini has already raised concerns about having many of his requests knocked back in his bid to strengthen his squad.

The Chilean boss has told friends he was appointed last month on the back of some significant promises.

But he feels they are not being fulfilled after seeing a string of his suggestions for players to target turned down.

Pellegrini hinted at the behind-the-scenes power battle he is facing during a talk this week back in his native Chile

For the first time in a long time, I'm looking forward to a decent season. Chich and Arnie up front will be a force to be reckoned with,

If the owners thought the Battle of Burnley was fierce then they aint seen nothing compared to if they royally fuck up this transfer window and go back on their promises

There will be pure carnage

Mirror stirring shit...

All Manny is doing is letting the loathsome spotted reptile know that he means business and didn't agree to the job to accept cast-offs and excuses

Either they want to improve the team or not but don't fuck him around

Nice one, Manuel. Sounds like he’s sussed out the owners and is putting the pressure on.

The big difference with Manuel is that he’s the first manager they’ve appointed that wasn’t desperate for the job. He’s a big name manager who can make them look like fools by walking away because they haven’t lived up to their promises.

Re: Pellegrini: "Now I will force the owners to form a competitive team"
Nice to hear on the one hand but if the owners fuck him about or don’t hold to promises or Sullivan sticks his ore in all the time can see him telling them to fuck off, it’s not like he will struggle to get another job!

Come August it could well be back to another mediocre roundabout manager on a short term deal while they promise the world to the better managers out there, although doubt we would get a second bite………..

Hope im wrong on both counts!

Give it a chance. Don’t jump on every quote. He would not have come to WH to be told he can’t build or invest in the squad. This could be a turning point for the club so wait and see over the next two months.

All very well having a link to this interview but what the fuck does it mean? Unless you read Spanish the only words that make sense are "West Ham" and "Rudd van Nistelrooy"...........and whats he got to do with it???? surely a bit old these days! to be playing, is he one of Pellegrinis staff???
